The 32 tests are organised into five chapter groups, each targeting a specific area of the Life in the UK Test syllabus:
Chapter 1 — Values and Citizenship (3 tests)
Covers settlement and citizenship requirements, British values and the rule of law, and the format and requirements of the test itself. These topics appear frequently in the real exam and are worth reviewing carefully.
Chapter 2 — Understanding the United Kingdom (3 tests)
Covers the four nations, Crown Dependencies, Overseas Territories, and the structure of devolved government. Questions on this chapter are often specific and require precise recall.
Chapter 3 — Britain Through the Ages (9 tests)
The most extensive chapter group, covering British history from prehistoric times to the present day. This chapter carries significant exam weight and includes many questions on specific dates, named individuals, and historical events.
Chapter 4 — British Life and Culture (8 tests)
Covers religion, sport, arts, festivals, literature, cinema, and everyday social life. Questions in this area often test specific names and figures rather than general themes.
Chapter 5 — Government, Law and Citizenship (9 tests)
Covers Parliament, the electoral system, devolved governments, the legal system, and the rights and responsibilities of residents. This chapter has high exam weight and rewards careful, thorough revision.
