Accessibility Commitment

Preparing for life's milestones should be a clear and accessible experience for everyone.

Our Approach

Accessibility is not a checkbox — it is an ongoing commitment. We aim to follow the principles of WCAG 2.1 Level AA wherever reasonably possible.

Our goal is to ensure the platform is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all learners, regardless of device, technology, or individual needs.

Designed for Reading Comfort

A core design principle of Milestone is long-session reading comfort. We prioritize typography, spacing, and contrast to reduce cognitive load and eye strain during extended study periods.

We offer three visual themes — Natural, Warm, and Dark — allowing you to choose the environment that best suits your visual needs. Each theme is reviewed for appropriate contrast ratios.

Clear Visual Hierarchy

We establish structure through intentional spacing and typography rather than visual clutter or excessive borders. A clear heading hierarchy helps all users navigate content efficiently.

By keeping the interface calm and desaturated, we ensure the study content remains the primary focus.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements on Milestone are designed to be usable without a mouse. You can navigate using the Tab key, activate buttons with Enter or Space, and escape modals with the Escape key.

Visible focus indicators help you track where you are on the page, ensuring keyboard users always know which element is active.

Screen Reader Support

We use semantic HTML and appropriate ARIA labels to ensure screen readers can interpret and announce content correctly. Headings, landmarks, and button labels are designed to be meaningful when read aloud.

We periodically test and review accessibility features, including screen reader compatibility, to help identify and reduce barriers.

Touch & Mobile Accessibility

For mobile and tablet users, we maintain a minimum touch target size of 44 by 44 pixels for all interactive controls. This helps prevent accidental taps and ensures ease of use.

The interface is fully responsive, adapting to different screen sizes while maintaining readability and functionality.

Reduced Motion

We respect your system preferences for reduced motion. If you have enabled reduced motion at the operating system level, Milestone will minimize or disable animations accordingly.

We use motion sparingly in our design, favoring subtle transitions that do not distract from learning.

Text & Zoom Flexibility

Milestone supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. Text size can be increased through browser settings or our in-app font size preferences.

We design with flexible layouts that reflow appropriately when text size increases.

Color & Contrast

We maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background to ensure readability. Interactive elements are distinguished by more than just color — they use shapes, labels, or underlines.

Information is never conveyed through color alone.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is a continuous commitment, not a completed task. We periodically review our platform against accessibility guidelines and welcome feedback from our community of learners.

If you encounter any barriers while using Milestone, please contact us through our Contact page. Accessibility feedback is reviewed carefully and directly shapes our improvement priorities.
